One More Day

I'm getting very nostalgic as I start packing up Joseph's stuff.  I'm remembering every phase of his life... his birth, his first steps, his first words (which came way before first steps), the first day of Kindergarten, the first day of High School....
Then, I just heard this song on a CD.  That did it.
I need to go do something else or I'll use up all my tissues before tomorrow.

"You'll Be In My Heart"

Come stop your crying
It will be all right
Just take my hand Hold it tight

I will protect you
from all around you
I will be here
Don't you cry

For one so small,
you seem so strong
My arms will hold you,
keep you safe and warm
This bond between us
Can't be broken
I will be here
Don't you cry

'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more

You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart, always

Why can't they understand
the way we feel
They just don't trust
what they can't explain
I know we're different but,
deep inside us
We're not that different at all

And you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more

Don't listen to them
'Cause what do they know
We need each other,
to have, to hold
They'll see in time
I know

When destiny calls you
You must be strong
I may not be with you
But you've got to hold on
They'll see in time
I know
We'll show them together

'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on,
Now and forever more

Oh, you'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be in my heart, always
Always

Brings back memories... Eight years ago we took Jim to college - less than a one hour drive from home - and after we said our final "good-bye" with a kiss and a hug, Win and I got in the car and before we exited the parking lot we were both bawling like babies. The same thing happened three years ago when we watched TJ get "sworn in" to the USAF, and then said our good-byes, knowing that the very next day he would be on his way to six-and-a-half weeks of basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in extremely hot and unbearably humid San Antonio. On that day we officially became "empty nesters." We have prayed for each of our sons every day from the day they were conceived. We pray more now for them than ever before. You never stop praying for your kids.

You and Jim are excellent parents, and you are raising four beautiful children. You have instilled in them a profound love and respect for the Word of God and the God of the Word. They will all do well. You have every right to be proud of Joseph. He is a stellar young man. He will do well. We'll be praying for him - and you, too! Love you guys, Joe and Win

Thanks, Joe!! I know Jim and I will both be "basket cases" on Sunday when we say goodbye. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. Last night he said good bye to Aunt, Uncle, cousins and friends. Today he'll say good bye to his brother and sisters. That won't be easy!
We have prayed for our kids since they were conceived, as well. I know we'll be praying even more.
We pray for you guys every night!!
We love you, too!
